We've finally done it! After months of downtime, we have migrated the website to a new platform with a whole new look. But the website isn't the only thing that is new. Many changes are coming down the pipeline in order to help improve stock availability and streamline the customer experience.
What does this mean for you? Well, we're not quite ready to fully reopen the store just yet. When we do, the product lineup is going to look a little different. Here are some of the changes you can expect to see:
- More focus. There will be fewer varieties of soap, but the old favourites will still be here and unchanged. The goal is to keep the most specialized formulas and remove those that are too generic or gimmicky. This will free up space and resources for more stock of the soaps that our customers truly need.
- New products! This may sound contrary to the first point, but the new products coming will not interfere with the core soap offerings. These will utilize very different ingredients and will not require any curing time, so replenishments can be made very quickly. Details on what these products are and when they will be launching will be announced at a later date.
- Lower shipping costs. Shipping is expensive in Canada, and it has been the most difficult hurdle for customers wishing to purchase our products. We will still offer Canada Post and UPS as preferred shipping options due to their reliable tracking and insurance coverage, but you will now have budget options as well. With budget couriers, tracking capabilities can vary wildly and the package may be passed along through multiple third parties, but it tends to be more affordable.
- Sample packs. Finally, for those eager to try our soaps but hesitant to pay the full price of multiple bars plus shipping, we will be offering small sample packs which can be shipped in an untracked envelope.
So when will the store be fully reopening? The target right now is late October. We may not have the entire product lineup available right away, but we will be operational. We will be releasing a detailed roadmap for production and product availability sometime in September to let you know when you can expect to see your favourite products again, as well as new releases.
