Whew! Things have been busy, but my promised mid-September update is here! It's time to set some expectations for the final quarter of 2025, and touch on our goals for 2026.
Let's get started with the very core of this business: the soap! We have some old favourites coming back with new formulations based on customer feedback:
- Morning Wood will have the ground apricot shells replaced with finely ground black walnut hulls for a less aggressive scrub.
- Mechanic Soap will have reduced pumice content for an easier lather.
- Baby Bar will be rebalanced to produce a longer-lasting bar.
- Lemongrass, Spa Day, Moisturize Me, and Utility Bar, along with all of the above soaps, will be receiving added Vitamin E (mixed tocopherols) to improve shelf stability.
- Sadly, any old recipes not mentioned above will be discontinued due to lack of interest.
And of course we have some new products in the works:
- Throw Shade: A soothing after-sun bar soap for those with sun sensitivities.
- 3 types of pH-controlled soap-free cleanser bars for you and your pets!
So what kind of timeline are we looking at here?
- Late October: At least two of the new soap-free cleansers will be launched.
- Early November: The first of the revised batches will be released from the curing rack. At this time, remaining old stock will also be available for sale with discounted prices.
- Late December: All revised recipes should be launched, along with the new recipe "Throw Shade". Note that we do NOT expect to have the complete lineup ready before Christmas shipping deadlines.
- Mid-January: We will have a roadmap for 2026, including a final decision on whether we will be participating in farmer's markets during summer 2026. At this time we will also be reworking our SEO and page indexing to reach more customers.
- Late October: At least two of the new soap-free cleansers will be launched.
In the meantime, we have added a new page to keep everyone in the loop for stock availability. Select "What's Cooking?" from the dropdown menu to have a look at what soaps are currently curing and when they are expected to be available. For other products, availability notes will be posted directly on the product pages when they are sold out.
